About The Artist

Jessica Harris is a 42 year old union Ironworker out of Local 29 in Portland, OR. She moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2010 from Central Florida. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2004, and quickly learned that as a working class woman, making a living from art wasn’t a practical option.

After working for 20 years, she has managed to earn enough money to set up a bare bones studio/shop space at her rented home in SE Portland.

Though she has always maintained a creative practice, having a dedicated space in which to do more “industrial” type art forms has opened a world of possibilities. For the first time since art school back in the early 2000s, she is back to exploring and making art, and pursuing her lifelong dream of being a “real” artist.
